I fell in love with art through family. I come from a very artistic creative group of talented people. Though not everyone pursued art as a career, I was always drawn to the storytelling aspect of graphic design and photography. Perhaps I just always wanted to carry a portfolio case because it looked fancy.
My undergraduate and graduate studies in graphic design led me to print production work at Smithsonian Enterprises and National Geographic. By combining the creative aspect of design and photography with the more technical rigors of print production, I have been able to develop some successful methods that improve the design/production process. 20+ years and I still love the craft even more today.
With my truest passion being music, I developed myself as a performance DJ which has now progressed to local radio hosting and my self produced podcast musicreliefradio.com.
Merging my passion for music and graphic design also led to my originally designed and screen printed apparel line. My designs begin as illustrated concepts and developed through to hand-printed tee shirts. Admittedly there is something special about taking an idea all the way to print using my own two hands. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I guess I will always be and art school kid.
